One Slow Day is a day in nature exploring relational somatics, movement and contact improvisation, with group and individual reflection. And just a good day in a community of like-minded people, with good food, a sauna and a beautiful place.

A day of movement, somatics and dance in nature
Saturday, 28 November, Fools' Valley, 30 min from Lisbon

Retreat near Lisbon

We are not embodied minds, but mindful bodies. We perceive the world through the body all the time, and most of the time we don’t notice it. Movement is our first language, and we need some time to come back to it and rely less on analysis and thinking.
In a world of acceleration we need time and space to feel resonance with others, with our own body and emotional state, and with nature.

Saturday, 28 November

10:00 Session 1 — movement and awareness practice, arriving in the body and slowing down
13:00 Lunch and time on the land
15:00 Session 2 — movement, contact improvisation and relational practices
18:00 Sauna and dinner

around 21:00 we go home and there will be a possibility to stay overnight

Facilitator
Renata Gizatulina

I’m a gestalt and somatic therapist (Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy and Body-Mind Gestalt) and a group therapist. So my idea for this day is to create a safe and brave space for body awareness and reflection.

A big part of my life is dancing. I love contact improvisation, Axis Syllabus and performative practices. I have been dancing CI for nearly 10 years and teach CI classes in Lisbon.

My research interest is in relational and movement-oriented approaches in psychotherapy and education. I also work as an organisational consultant with companies and NGOs in learning and development and community building.
