Context

Skyeng is an online school for learning English. It grows and evolves steadily. Skyeng L&D team needed constant updates about new learning methods and practices. In other words, they wanted a system of finding and implementing innovations.

Objectives

Teach the L&D team to search for knowledge and turn it into tools.

Solutions

We helped organize an internal laboratory for designing and testing of innovations. For several months 6 teams from different departments worked in the laboratory.

Results

All teams have worked in the laboratory, done research and implemented innovations in their departments.

Topics of research: modern aspects of distance learning, creating engaging content through gamification and motivational design; designing challenges in learning; transition from teacher to mentor in blended and distance learning.

Skyeng and HSE University jointly published a digest describing several cases of innovations.
